hello again!
long time, no see. sorry i have not updated the blog in awhile, things have been a bit hectic on my end.
last weekend was pretty great. wed before last was fatima (one of pat's housemates) so her girlfriend megan planned a surprise party for that thursday. she did a great job getting all of fatima's friends over to the house to pop poppers in fatima's face. after the surprise we all went to a nice dinner at an indian restaurant down the road. it wasnt very expensive considering there were about 14 people there (13 girls and pat). i got to see the lucksmiths on friday (swoon!) and attended my first ever australian house party on saturday. the lucksmiths show was great, not as good as the london show two years ago though. however it was neat to see them on their own turf and hear everyone around me talking about how many times they had seen them. the house party was pretty interesting. not much different than those at home, except i only knew a few people at this one.
monday night pat and i cooked mexican food for his roommates. all the tortillas a the store looked like they were made of paper so we decided to make them from scratch, and too be honest they turned out to be really good. pat and i are going to set up a mexican food stall at the queen victoria market if we dont find jobs soon.

wednesday i finally moved into my house in north carlton. i was very tired for some reason and passed out at about ten that night. the house is pretty nice, i have minimal complaints. my roommates seem nice enough. caroline is irish (a nurse), michelle is english (a nurse as well) and luke is australian (not sure what he does). in total the house has five bedrooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms. i am pretty sure it used to be one big house but was split into two separate apartments but then merged back into one big house again. my room is huge, it is bigger than some studio apartments i have seen. i have my own balcony as well (see pictures below).

all in all the house is alright. a little bit dirty and my roommates smoke in the living room (which is super gross because they told me they didnt smoke inside!). i cant wait until the summer when i can open up the windows and sit on the porch.
the job search is going alright as well. i have applied for a few online and posted my resume on seek.com.au. i have also acquired the phone numbers of a few temp agencies from the girl who used to live in my room. i figure i will register with them and wait until something comes up. i was also fortunate enough to find a babysitting job with michael collis's sister leisa. she has three children. josie is nine months, gabe is two and hannah is almost five. gabe and hannah have beautiful red hair. all three of them are very well behaved, probably the best children i have ever seen.
all of this should bring everyone up to speed. my house does not have internet so i am not sure when my next post will be. probably when something big happens (ie i found a job or something).
